Sculptural Centrepieces by Splinterworks

Home Amenities

We spoke with design pioneers, Splinterworks who are reimagining lifestyle, statement pieces for your home. From sinks to slides, Spliterworks are making functional unforgettable.

Splinterworks’ custom-made, architectural creations promise an eclectic mix of style and functionality. Known for their sleek shiny slides, and more recently hammock baths – each piece promises individuality, with seamless specification. Designed to fit the client’s size, orientation, environment and style – effortlessly slotting together and responding directly to the site.

Recognised for their fun, yet pleasing functional masterpieces both inside and out in the home, the UK based luxury brand founders Miles Hartwell and Matt Withington recognised clients need for combining practicality with pieces that reflect their sense of style.

You won’t be short of choice when it comes to choosing a luxury slide or bath for your home. We’ve dived right in and asked the experts at Splinterworks to uncover their latest offerings for you to cool off at home…

Pool Slides

If you’re looking to add a luxuriously fun, yet striking sculpture feature to your poolside, then look no further than Splinterworks slides. Individually designed specifically to fit the size and orientation of the pool, they also come in an array of materials to suit the client and environment.

Or, if you’re looking for something a little simpler to add a splash of colour to reflect your personality around the pool, their new ‘Downtime’ slides are available in a range of bespoke colours and are easy to assemble and self-install.

Miles Hartwell describes the design process, whilst incorporating features requested by their clients;

“Our clients are discerning and want to have pieces that reflect their sense of style and personality. They want unique products that elevate the everyday, that have an artistic sensibility, and look good year-round. They are looking for a timeless style that doesn’t age with trends, this comes with investing in pieces that have design integrity and a high quality of workmanship.
All of our work starts in a sketch book, for every one design that makes it to fruition there’s 200 pages of those that haven’t. If an idea makes it out of the sketch book, we move straight into Rhino, a 3D modelling tool. Once the design is developed aesthetically, we then concentrate on the structural integrity of the piece and use our engineering experts to enhance the CAD model so it can be stress-tested prior to production.”

Hammock Baths

A more recent, yet already viral venture for Splinterworks is the ultimate bathroom piece for anyone who loves to kick back and soak up the suds. The Hamaca bath tub elevates the immersive comfort of soaking in a hot bath and combines it with the peaceful experience of kicking back in a hammock.

Created in carbon fibre, Hamaca is incredibly strong and stays completely rigid, even when full. Unlike most baths, with flat bottoms and steep backs, Hamaca’s continuous curved surface offers an unprecedented level of comfort that encourages long, luxurious bathing.

Filled using a floor-standing tap, waste water is released through the base and discarded through a floor drain positioned directly beneath the tub.

How do you get in and out?

Well, it is much easier than an actual hammock! The only flat spot of the bath is in the very centre. So, whilst it is possible to step straight in, the best way is to sit on the side and swivel your legs around.

Is it comfortable?

Oh yes! Unlike most tubs with flat bottoms and steep backs, the continuously curving contours of the Hamaca bath offers an unprecedented level of comfort that encourages long, luxurious bathing. They are unlike any other bath in this respect because your spine and neck are completely supported, making it supremely comfortable.

Is it deep enough?

When viewing the Hamaca side on, it is common to perceive it as being rather shallow. It is actually quite a typical depth but, because it is so much longer than a standard tub, it looks shallow relative to its length.

Where are the baths and basins made?

Our Hammock Bath products are made to the highest standard in England, United Kingdom.
