Tradition cohabits with the avant-garde at Broom Heights in Hindhead

Broom Heights is a development of 12 luxurious 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments with allocated parking, all providing contemporary living with spacious open plan interiors as well as lofty, double height ceilings to selected apartments, situated in the beautiful Surrey village of Hindhead.

History

Broom House, Hindhead was purchased in 2006. The house, which dates back to the late 19th century, was in poor condition and at that time split into 4 flats. The developers decided to reshape Broom House as a new and enlarged residential development.

Following helpful consultations with Waverly Borough Council, the developers commissioned their architects to bring forward a design with a sensitivity to the Arts and Crafts style and the merits
of the original Broom House, whilst providing interior spaces for contemporary living.

The eye-catching design included a new turreted wing on the corner of the existing building to accentuate the site’s prominence on Tower Road and Tilford Road, spacious open plan design for the interiors and where possible, lofty double height ceilings.

Charles Lyndon Homes Ltd was the vehicle for this purpose, the refurbishment and extension provides 12 new apartments renamed Broom Heights, in recognition of its origins and Hindhead location, known historically as ‘Little Switzerland’ as it is the highest village in Surrey at 250 metres above sea level.

The owners passion and desire has been to create a unique development blending together the conversion and new build, so that each apartment has its own individual charm and character.

The specification includes bespoke kitchens with Bora Induction Hobs and Bosch kitchen appliances, underfloor heating, Karndean floor coverings, Gartec lift, Rationel windows and doors. Throughout the build the developer has insisted upon quality of design and specification which has extended to the bin and bike stores and external landscaped areas.
